The woman who hacked her father-in-law to death with a bayonet before smiling and taking a selfie next to his dead body has revealed in a new interview that she still has “absolutely no remorse” for the brutal killing.
Amanda Taylor, 24, the “Selfie Killer,” was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Charlie Taylor, 59, on April 4, 2015.
Amanda was convinced that her husband Rex, who hanged himself in August 2014, became suicidal due to using drugs that she said his father introduced him to as a teenager, and continued to supply to him.
“I have absolutely no remorse for what I did to Charlie Taylor at all. I did exactly what I wanted to do,” the 26-year-old mother of two told Crime Watch Daily in a phone interview from prison.
“I just wanted him to feel the pain I felt. That’s the most alive I’ve felt since Rex died. I was very happy, I was very happy just to finally get all that built-up hate and anger and all those feelings out on him.”
Taylor also compared the thrill of killing to the joy of an amusement-park ride. She says it was like:
“My first roller-coaster ride. Because of all the nerves and the feeling of, like, freedom. That’s how I felt. It was very different than what I had in mind. It’s not what you see in the movies.”
Shortly after the murder, she described her grief over the death of her husband Rex — and discussed her reasons for killing — in a graphic Instagram post.
“Everything I did was for the right reasons. I stabbed my father-in-law to death because he destroyed my husband….” Taylor wrote. “I wasn’t the perfect wife, but this was one last good thing I could do.”
She followed it up with a post on her Facebook page saying, “I proudly did this for Rex.”
