Bergen County prosecutors say Raphael Lolos also faces counts of desecrating human remains, hindering apprehension, stalking, and credit card fraud in the death of Jennifer Londono.

On June 27, the 31-year-old’s torso was found beheaded and dismembered in the Red Hook Channel in Brooklyn after having been tossed into the Hudson River. After the body was discovered, the NYPD released an image of a Sanskrit tattoo on her hip in the hope that someone would recognize it and could help identify the woman.

The woman’s mother walked into a police precinct after recognizing her daughter’s tattoo from the images released to the media. According to NYPD Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said, the mother indicated that the tattoo was a tribute to an aunt.

Soon after, one of Londono’s legs with pink-painted toenails was discovered by the West 79th St. Boat Basin on the Hudson River.

During the initial investigation, a K-9 unit alerted to possible traces of Londono’s blood in Lolos’ bathtub. Authorities say Lolos killed and dismembered Londono in New Jersey, and continued to use her credit cards until he was arrested at a New Jersey motel.
