GLOUCESTERSHIRE, ENGLAND — Gloucestershire Police Department lit up social media after tweeting out a photo of a Christmas tree decorated beautifully with ornaments, garlands, bows, and even an angel on top. Instead of traditional pine or fir, however, this festive fauna is a large marijuana plant.
The GPD caption under the photo reads: “Not your traditional Xmas Tree! Two arrested in Cheltenham on suspicion of cannabis cultivation.”
Officers discovered the intoxicating display during a raid of “a small cannabis farm.” Responders arrested one man and one woman, who were not identified.
Local authorities stress in their report that, despite the growing popularity and legalization of marijuana in areas of the United States, possession of such substances is still against the law in the United Kingdom.
